Hmm, I wonder what the new deck will look like!

On Saturday the 18th of June, my dads friend came to my house with my cousin to renovate our house. They built a deck.

First my mum woke up my brother and I at 8 o'clock to clean up the backyard before they come so that they can straight away begin. We finished cleaning the backyard at 9 o'clock.

The workers arrived at our house at 9:30 in the morning. My dad led them to the backyard so that they could start. We all helped out in different ways. My brother and I helped by jumping into a big container to make room for the chairs that my mum wanted to throw away. My mum and dad helped by carrying all the pieces of wood to the backyard.

My sister cooked breakfast for all the workers. We had breakfast with them as well. We had bacon, egg, toast and milo. After we finished eating we sat in front of the T.V and watched youtube and my favourite movie on Netflix. Then my mum asked me to grab some of the bottles for the workers because they were thirsty.

After that, I had a little nap because I was tired. My mum woke me up and asked me if I wanted to go with her to buy pizzas or takeaway so we bought both. We only bought two pizzas because my dad called and said t just buy that pizzas for my brother, sister and older cousin.

When we got home, I called my brother and my sister to come and eat. The workers ate and after they have eaten they continued to work. My mum called out to them and said, "Do you guys need anything?" ut they said, "No it's ok." So my mum went inside to watch them because she was worried that my older cousin might get hurt from the electronic machineries like the saws and the drills.

By 6 o'clock, all the workers stopped working and said to my dad that they were going home. My dad said, "Thank you!" and the man told my dad that they are going to come back over the next three days.

Around 6:30, some people from Noel Leeming came to my house to deliver our new 55 inch television. The man showed my older sister how to set up the new television. When the people left, my sister went on youtube on the new TV and watched Wassabi Production, Laughing Samoan, The Dominic show and Fousey tube.

My favourite part was when the new television came because it was bigger and a newer model than the old television.

I felt exhausted because it was a really busy day. I can't wait to see the completion of the deck.

Wow! Netball is hard work!!

On Tuesday the 7th of June, the after school netball teams gathered in Room 7. My brother asked Miss Chao if he could come with us because my dad said he could look after me. Once we were ready, we all walked to the office to wait for the taxis to come. While we were waiting, the other teachers wished us luck. When the taxis came, Miss Chao counted everybody and equally divided all the teams into each taxi.

I arrived at the Netball court first because we went in the first taxi. I went with our coach Chloe, Mana and Alessandra. We practised until all the teams have arrived. While we were waiting, we went to the food area and bought ourselves some food. I bought a cup of hot chips to share with my brother. Once we have finished eating, some of us went for a jog around the court.

Then we heard the big bell ring, so we went to our court. While we were walking, my best friend Rosary told me that I was playing for the Intermediate team because one of the players didn't turn up. We versed against Balmoral Intermediate. Once I saw the other team, I didn't feel so nervous because we were of similar height to them.

I looked over to who the Year 6s were versing and felt that we were in for a chance to win. Then the referee blew the whistle and I ran to try and get the ball. I tried so hard to stay on side when I have the ball. Balmoral Intermediate had two goals and St Patrick's scored 2 goals in a row. We played for 2 more rounds after half time.

When the game was over, I asked what the score was and everyone said it was a draw. Then we placed our hands in the middle and gave three cheers for Balmoral Intermediate and one cheer for the referee. Then we all went in a line and shook hands with the players of the Balmoral team and said, "Good game!" I quickly ran to the my bag to have a big drink of water. After that, I hopped into Alessandra's car so they could take me to choir practice.

My favourite part of the day was when my team won two goals in a row.

It was a fun game. I wonder who we will be versing next week.

Learning Intention: We are learning to understand the structure a recount.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I write an introduction, followed by the events and then a conclusion of my first afterschool netball game at the Auckland Netball centre.

How many times can you sprint around a field without stopping?

Learning Intention: I am learning to write a recount.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I write an introduction, followed by the events and then a conclusion about my run along the Onehunga Foreshore Reserve.

It was a sunny day, my siblings and my mum went to Onehunga Foreshore Reserve for a run. We all rushed around the house getting ourselves ready. We travelled there in my dad's big, silver Jeep Wrangler.

When we arrived at the foreshore, my siblings and I did some warmups and stretches in the carpark. I jogged on the spot and I stretched out my arms, legs and neck so that my body would not hurt afterwards.

I went for a jog around the whole reserve 4 times without stopping while my brother and sister just sprinted around the reserve. First I jogged slowly because I wanted my energy to last but then I started sprinting after the  first lap. I went past  bumps and it felt like my stomach had butterflies because I had to go over the bumps and I didn't want to fall and embarrass myself in front of the others.

Finally, when I had finished jogging around the reserve 4 times I went to my mum who had also finished her run, and she told me to sprint the whole reserve again. I said, "Yes!" and did what she said. My sister ran with me and when we were running, she couldn't catch up with me because I was running as fast as a cheetah. I rehydrated myself by drinking some fresh, clean water.

When I finished sprinting around the reserve, my brother and my sister had also completed their run as well so we went to the park to play for a little bit, while my mum did her workout at the outdoor gym. When my mum finished her workout, we all hopped into the car and headed home.

When we got home, we were all so exhausted so we had a rest and ate some food to refuel. I had so much fun at the reserve.

My favourite part was when I was running around the reserve and playing in the park because I was improving my fitness just like my dad. This will help me to get ready for our 'Family challenge 24-7'.
