Thanks to the ladybugs, we still have crops in our gardens!

Image result for ladybugLadybugs are tiny beetles that live in hedges and places with leaves.

Ladybugs look like tiny round balls that are red with black dots. When predators attack, they pretend to die because the predators will think that they're already dead and leave. Sometimes they bleed from their knees when they're scared. They like leaves and hedges because it's easier to find food there.

Ladybugs feel smooth and they are shiny. Ladybugs are always found in hedges and in places where there are leaves so they can find aphids to eat. Ladybugs protect the crops in the garden by eating the aphids as they are a main source of food for the ladybugs.

Ladybugs have many predators birds, spiders and people. Ladybugs can blend in with leaves and other insects when predators attack.

There are many ladybugs on the hedge because they are good at blending in with their environment and there are many tiny insects for them to eat.

Learning Intention: We are learning to write a description.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I follow the structure of a description to write about ladybugs.
