Wow! Netball is hard work!!

On Tuesday the 7th of June, the after school netball teams gathered in Room 7. My brother asked Miss Chao if he could come with us because my dad said he could look after me. Once we were ready, we all walked to the office to wait for the taxis to come. While we were waiting, the other teachers wished us luck. When the taxis came, Miss Chao counted everybody and equally divided all the teams into each taxi.

I arrived at the Netball court first because we went in the first taxi. I went with our coach Chloe, Mana and Alessandra. We practised until all the teams have arrived. While we were waiting, we went to the food area and bought ourselves some food. I bought a cup of hot chips to share with my brother. Once we have finished eating, some of us went for a jog around the court.

Then we heard the big bell ring, so we went to our court. While we were walking, my best friend Rosary told me that I was playing for the Intermediate team because one of the players didn't turn up. We versed against Balmoral Intermediate. Once I saw the other team, I didn't feel so nervous because we were of similar height to them.

I looked over to who the Year 6s were versing and felt that we were in for a chance to win. Then the referee blew the whistle and I ran to try and get the ball. I tried so hard to stay on side when I have the ball. Balmoral Intermediate had two goals and St Patrick's scored 2 goals in a row. We played for 2 more rounds after half time.

When the game was over, I asked what the score was and everyone said it was a draw. Then we placed our hands in the middle and gave three cheers for Balmoral Intermediate and one cheer for the referee. Then we all went in a line and shook hands with the players of the Balmoral team and said, "Good game!" I quickly ran to the my bag to have a big drink of water. After that, I hopped into Alessandra's car so they could take me to choir practice.

My favourite part of the day was when my team won two goals in a row.

It was a fun game. I wonder who we will be versing next week.

Learning Intention: We are learning to understand the structure a recount.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I write an introduction, followed by the events and then a conclusion of my first afterschool netball game at the Auckland Netball centre.
